PCM

This year I had my Practical Christian Ministry at a place called Breakthrough Urban Ministries. We tutored kids from kindergarten through 8th grade. I worked with a group of 4-6 year olds. It was a very new experience for me, and one I learned a LOT from. A lot of the kids come from broken homes, and Breakthrough is the one safe place they have. A few of the highschool staff members became Christians while attending Breakthrough, so it was encouraging to see where some of the kids we worked with may be in a few years. The staff at Breakthrough were such great examples to us; they showed us how to love the kids with Christ's love, often involving giving them the discipline many of them don't get at home. It was amazing to see how the kids grew and changed in the short span of about 9 months. They became so much more confident in school work, and much more comfortable with us tutors. Some even considered us friends! :) Here's a few pictures from our last day, it was so sad to say goodbye to them!
